Brandy Lee is the founder and creative at Big Sister Studio. She was born in Texas and from a young age was labeled “creative” because of her ability to make something wonderful out of very little. In 1999 Brandy enrolled to study theatre at Stephen F. Austin State University. Here she learned basic costume construction, along with acting and set design skills. She went on to work in Arizona, California, and New York and to tour with Disney on Ice. Landing in Austin, Texas in 2008, Brandy leveraged her costuming experience to work in Theatre, alterations, bridal wear, custom clothing, vintage and upholstery. Through this work, she strengthened her skill behind the sewing machine and discovered her voice through textiles. In 2017 Brandy created Big Sister Studio, a design studio that creates one of a kind pieces for everyone using new, scrapped, discarded, thrifted, and deadstock clothing and textiles. Recently her work has been featured in The Momentary, NYLON, Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week, Arkansas Monthly, and Idle Class Magazine.
